Emergency tarping is a temporary roof protection method used after wind, hail, fallen trees, or other storms leave sections of a roof exposed. The goal is to limit additional rain and weather damage until permanent repairs can be completed.
What the Job Involves
The damaged roof area is inspected to determine where water can enter. A heavy-duty waterproof tarp is positioned over the exposed section and secured using appropriate fastening methods without creating additional damage.
Signs You Need It
- Missing shingles
- Punctured or exposed roofing
- Fallen tree damage
- Torn roof sections
- Active roof leaks
- Damaged flashing or roof openings
How the Work Goes
The technician first assesses the roof from a safe position and identifies exposed areas. Loose debris may be cleared when safe, then the tarp is positioned to extend beyond the damaged section and secured to provide temporary weather protection.
What Affects the Cost
Cost depends on the size of the damaged area, roof height and pitch, accessibility, tarp size, amount of damage, and equipment required. Severe structural damage may require additional stabilization before tarping.
Emergency tarping is temporary protection, not a permanent roof repair. For emergency tarping in Lotus, CA, call Restore Pro at (951) 433-4147.
